On April 28th, 2022, the Ignace Community Nuclear Liaison Committee celebrated its Grand Opening! Read on to find out what it's all about!
On April 28th, 2022, we hosted a Grand Opening for our new ICNLC Office! It was a great success and many people attended. We even had some visitors from British Columbia travelling through! We would like to extend our sincerest thanks to all of the local businesses who made our Community Designer's, Kim Richards, conceptual design come to life! We would especially like to thank our food vendors for all the tasty treats, and delicious food throughout the day; Crystal Ward from Crystal's Home Cooking, Diana Schmidt from Diana's Baking Gallery, and the staff at Shoprite Fine Foods!
The ICNLC Office is located at the Township Office, on the boardwalk beside the Library. Our mandate is to facilitate community and regional engagement, and assist with activities and events related to preparing the community for the possibility of hosting the Deep Geological Repository for Canada's used nuclear fuel. This space was created with the community in mind - where community members can come in and learn about the project, voice their concerns and ask questions in a neutral environment. We want to hear from you, so come in and share your thoughts - or just swing by for a coffee to say hello! We are looking forward to seeing you at our next open house event. Stay tuned for those details!
