Did you know that the Canadian Nuclear Safety Commission (CNSC) is a federal regulatory body that governs the entire nuclear industry in our country - including the Nuclear Waste Management Organization (NWMO).
When a site for the Deep Geological Repository (DGR) is selected, an Impact Assessment along with other licensing processes need to be complete before the DGR project can even begin - this could take another TEN years after the site is selected.
